The tree tradition started in 1993 as a 50-foot tree meant to help revitalize downtown Delray Beach. Two years later, in celebration of the city’s Centennial, it grew to its now-signature 100 feet.

What to Expect at Santa’s Holiday Village

Once lit, the tree and surrounding Holiday Village typically stay open through New Year’s Day, with:

• Ice skating
• A carousel
• Mini golf
• A visit with Santa inside his own house
• Animated scenes telling the story of the “Village by the Sea”

On lighting night, Atlantic Avenue closes to traffic between Swinton Ave and NE 5th Ave, turning the evening into a walkable street festival with food, games, carolers, and live entertainment.

The Worth Avenue Tree Lighting, part of “Holidays on Worth,” is a decades-long Palm Beach tradition put on by the Worth Avenue Association — and it’s one of the most elegant holiday events in the county.

Worth Avenue closes to traffic during the event, so it’s a walkable, festive evening best enjoyed on foot — arrive a little early to find parking nearby.
